We believe that learning is the very essence of humility. We learn from everything and everybody, and there is no hierarchy in learning. Authority denies learning, and a follower will never learn.
We are committed to providing our students with a learning environment where they can be themselves, explore their interests, and reach their full potential. We believe that every child is unique, and we strive to create a learning environment that meets the needs of each individual student.
We are excited to continue our journey with Samskaara Academy, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.
Our History -
A Journey From Inception To Today
2010
- Samskaara Academy is founded by The Thayaramal Education Trust Foundation on a two acre and seventy-five cent plot of land in Ondipudur, in the city of Coimbatore. The end of the year saw 40 students enrolled, 5 adult facilitators and 15 helpers hired.
- A hybrid form of education combining Kindergarten and Montessori methods was followed in the classroom.
2011
- The Casa de Bambini environments were built to house the Early Montessori students.
- Our first school bus was purchased.
2012
- Construction was completed on the parent’s lounge and office building.
- Ms. Brinda, Managing Trustee of the Thayaramal Education Trust Foundation took over as Correspondent.
- The Kindergarten method was done away with and only the Montessori mode of education continued.
- Lower Elementary classes began.
2013
- Upper elementary classes began.
- The playground and sandpit with Montessori play equipment were completed and available for the students to use.
- Cylindrical class environments approached by a ramp on the second floor of the elementary section were built.
2014
- Samskaara signed an MoU with TESOL International Association, USA with the aim of having Montessori-trained and certified teachers.
2015
- Students could graduate to the newly completed Grade 6 classroom.
- A Certificate of Provisional Affiliation was received from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi, granting permission to prepare and enter candidates for the Grade 10 ICSE examinations.
2016
- Our first Annual Sports meet is held.
- The two-storey High School block was built and completed using Laurie Baker style of architecture. It contains separate Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Geography laboratories, a library, an audio-visual room and fifteen spacious class rooms.
- An indoor gymnasium with two shuttle badminton courts was also constructed and made available for students.
2018
- The first batch of Grade 10 students wrote their board exams, resulting in 100% passes.
2019
- The Association of Schools For The Indian School Certificate granted Samskaara Academy membership (code ASISC-TN83).
2020
- The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi, granted us the Certificate of Affiliation (permanent recognition).The first Past Students Get-together was held, and was well-attended.
2022
- The first outstation Payanam (journey) was organized as part of our 10th Year Celebration. Seventeen students, 2 staff and one parent visited Delhi. Subsequently, a Thanjavur Payanam and a Meghalaya Payanam were also enjoyed as part of our education through travel programme.
- The cement floored Basketball court was re-laid with modern bitumen material.
2023
- The second Carnival was conducted through the collaboration of children from the various clubs and their staff in charge.
- Exclusive child-friendly kitchen pantry sections built separately for CASA and Elementary children.
